This week we’ve been back to school in Liverpool!
AFTA Thought found themselves being told to ‘see me’ by teachers at two Liverpool Primary Schools as the new term began – and we got a glowing report!
Safeguarding Children in Schools is such an important issue and so the heads at Whitefield, and Faith Primary Schools in North Liverpool, and Childwall C of E primary in South Liverpool both asked AFTA Thought to come in and deliver training to their staff teams.
The schools have some differences in relation to the issues that affect their pupils and we were able to tailor the training for the schools to reflect this. And it wasn’t just teachers who were getting involved, we had teaching assistants, lunchtime supervisors, school governors, cleaning staff and after school staff, ensuring that everyone who comes into contact with pupils are confident about what to do if they have a safeguarding concern.
The staff really engaged with the training and Jill Wright, Head of Whitefield School said “”AFTA Thought provided outstanding safeguarding training for all staff. The actors brought an extra dimension to our usual training, enabling staff to identify with scenarios and gain a much deeper understanding of complex issues.”
