“The LWDP (Lancashire Workforce Development Partnership) has engaged with AFTA Thought a number of times during the past 12 months and the performances always powerfully bring to life some of the issues that Social Care workers face on a daily basis. The AFTA Thought training consultants are passionate about the live experience of training through drama and this was displayed at our End of Life conference in June 2013, if someone doesn’t manage to accomplish all of their wishes.
They were also involved in the conference in February 2013 on Personalisation – ‘A Person Centred Approach to Care’. We have received fantastic feedback about the event from all involved: “The actors were brilliant, I found it easy to understand and follow what their message was around Person Centred Care. The whole workshops and debates were fantastic”.
The LWDP Conference 3D – Dementia, Diabetes & Diet was highly praised by the delegates who attended on the 14 March 2013. In the afternoon delegates found the drama presentations provided by AFTA thought very interesting and thought provoking. This conference kick started the LWDP Dementia Initiative which is a funded programme of events provided by the LWDP for Lancashire care providers who are involved in caring for people with Dementia to raise the knowledge levels of basic Dementia awareness as well as a culture change programme for managers. The LWDP worked with AFTA Thought to develop Dementia training including the domiciliary care aspect as well as for the residential sector.”
