MCA, DOLS, Housing and Safeguarding

The Mental Capacity Act (2005) has been in effect for 4 years now but the need for awareness events is still clear to see.

2011 has seen one of our busiest periods for delivering our work in MCA and also the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. We now offer sessions for mental health trusts which clarify some of the more complex dynamics that are being experienced in both community and in-patient settings.

AFTA Thought have continued to diversify our range of events in the housing sector and we are pleased to continue to work with our partners to produce creative and stimulating events. Tenant events have proved as effective as staff events in developing organisational culture.

We are also pleased to have developed new refresher safeguarding training for existing clients. This allows us to explore the issues in greater detail as well as address the continuing gaps that recent events have exposed.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

"Such was the impact of the sessions, some staff thought the scenarios were real and had happened within the company or out on our estates." A1 Housing,
