Induction Training - City West Housing
AFTA Thought are pleased to announce that we have delivered the first pilot of what we hope will become a fast growing area of our work.
Working with City West Housing Trust we have constructed a model of work that breathes new life into induction training. The importance of the induction process for organisations is significant. This is the opportunity to establish and maintain a culture that is consistent with the organisation's vision and values. It is where professional conduct and safe care practice are endorsed and emphasised. It is, however, often undervalued and sometimes even avoided by both managers and staff - an example of professional dangerousness in action.
Our new model engages recently appointed members of staff in an interactive day working in both plenary and small group sessions exploring how their values and behaviours fit with the ethos of the company. Customer Care, Professional Conduct, Safeguarding, and Health & Safety are addressed in scenarios drawn from real case studies. Staff leave the day feeling clear about their roles and responsibilities; and are motivated to be true to the principles of the organisation.
