Dementia Awareness Training
Dementia currently affects 700,000 people in the UK, with that number set to greatly increase as the population ages. AFTA Thought have been involved in a number of regional and national events to improve the support for those people living with dementia and for their families and carers.
We have been fortunate to present alongside some of the country's leading experts and we're pleased to announce that we now deliver our own Dementia Awareness training events for staff working in health and social care. The sessions explore the impact of diagnosis, and the lessons that have been learned about how to enable people to live well with dementia. It's an essential subject that touches all of us and yet there are still significant gaps in the knowledge and understanding of the frontline staff who are in most need of information.
